November 7th- The Day of Much Happinness

Today I received some AMAZING news. I met with my advisor to fill out an application to go to school in the Winter of 2012. As we wrote down all of my classes on a graduation plan we both realized that I was going to be done with school in JULY! I seriously cannot tell you how big my smile was, for the following reasons:

1. I thought I was going to be done with school in December
2. This is my last cold season in Rexburg
3. I will be graduating at the end of July, aka the most beautiful time of the year in Rexburg!
4. It is less than ONE year away

November 7th was not only great because of that. I usually forget important dates, but I remembered that November 7th of 2008 was the day that Jack asked me to marry him. It has been 3 years. CRAZY! I will save this story for another time. It is GOOD!

All Hallows' Eve

Childless couples in Rexburg usually have nothing besides a ward activity to do for Halloween. So I decided to do something about it. A week ago, we had a lovely All Hallows' Eve banquet with a couple of friends. The menu involved Bread Bowls, Salad, Shrimp and Corn Chowder and delicious desert made by my R2D2 friend Nicole. It was so much fun!

Nicole and Eric as R2D2 and Luke Skywalker, Ashley and Mark as the hot and rebellious Grease couple, Nathalie and Austin as Cleopatra and Quailman, Jack and I as Team Zissou from the Life Aquatic. I wish I could have invited a lot more couples, but our apartment is pretty small.

I had so much fun putting this together. Improvised banquet table and some decor. Also the cutest caramelized apple bites made by Nicole in the pictures above. Delicious!

Can't wait for Halloween next year. I want to make this a tradition. I already have some costume ideas for next year.

Quick update.

Jack's band, Old Money, sadly had to split up since two of the members graduated and one moved away.

Well, after gathering some talented young men. They were able to get a new band going. With a new name. No, not New Money, they are actually called Seminole Roots.

This weekend they are going to be playing their first official show together, and not only that, they will be playing with super talented, cool band Desert Noises and one that I have not listened to yet Lake Island.

Here is a poster I put together for the show.

Come come come. Come give me a hug, have a pie shake at Sammy's and enjoy some good music. AND last but not least, this show is a charity show; for every shake you buy $1 dollar will be donated to New Eyes for the Needy.

I was once upon a time a cat ~~hater~~. And don't you lie to me, I bet you are one too. Did you know that 8 out of 10 people hate cats? And 4 out of those eight people are haters due to being allergic to cats and the other 4 because of Lucifer from Cinderella? ( I just made all of this up, so don't quote me).

But I do believe that those two, truly were the reasons why I hated cats. Cat sitting Lili for 6 months made me realize that the reason why people usually hate cats (their personalities) is the reason why I love them (at least most of them). Well, let me introduce you to this little guy, and you might just change your mind:

MEET OLIVER

Oliver is the cutest thing you will ever meet. My parents found him in their backyard and we have all fallen in love.

Don't worry, this blog won't turn into a cat blog. But since I don't have any kids I feel like I should/can brag about our first pet.

Football Season

Playing catchup.

Visit to UT, and I will tell you why in an upcoming post. But also to visit my family and hang out with my best friend Rebeca and her Fiance. Really short trip but we had a lot of fun.

Rebeca got us tickets for BYU's Homecoming game. My first BIG football game! Even though I don't understand much of what is going on, I could clearly tell that BYU was kicking San Jose's butt and the company was great.

We got to see the band perform, the cheerleaders and the cougarettes. I also ran into a dear friend from High School, Cardin.

I loved the team spirit, all the songs and traditions! It reminded me of my soccer team's (COXA!) games that my dad used to take me to.

School has started, just in case you were wondering why I am so INCONSISTENT with my blog. Well, I have a lot of things to share with you guys. And it seems like this semester I will have a little bit more time. :) Did I hear Nails Nails???

Well for now I leave you with this funny/gross video of Jack trying out the Neti Pot, for those of you who don't know, it is meant to clean your nostrils. Jack broke his nose a while ago, and working construction was making it really hard for him to sleep/breathe with all the dirt in his nose and all.

I remember us making fun of the You Tube video sensation, now LOOK AT HIM, a witness to the Neti Pot.

On Fire

It has been a crazy week. What did I do for labor day? Well we started with a little shopping and as we were headed home we noticed a huge thing of smoke (top left) directly towards my in-laws place. So at night we evacuated to our dear friends' house in downtown. So it wasn't that fun.

The good news is the house is fine and our neighborhood is safe (for now). The bad news is the state of Texas is on fire (literally). There is fire everywhere and the drought is really bad. So many people have lost their homes and some even their lives.

bottom left: It's been raining ashes since 6pm.

So if you could, keep the texans in your prayers.

Adventure is out there!

I was waiting until we got back to Rexburg and developed the disposable camera pictures to post about this, but I just can't wait anymore!!! So I will just use the pictures that I had in my little point and shoot.

When Jack and I were dating, we went on a trip to the most beautiful place I have ever been to. It was an incredible adventure, and I would say that this trip was a very important event in our dating history (two days without showering, zero makeup and 13 mile hikes later can be very defining in a relationship.)

Well ever since then, we have been dreaming of the day that we would pay a visit to Havasupai, AZ again. NOT Havasu Lake.... Havasupai. They are two different places.

You gotta make your reservations ahead of time, we tried last year but we failed. Called too late, but this year we made it, and we went with some of our bestest friends.

Here are some of the very few pics I took at one of the many breathtaking waterfalls:

I slept in a hammock the whole weekend and falling asleep to that sky FULL of stars (including shooting stars every 30 seconds) was just priceless. It was the best adventure, with the best people!

Everyone should include Havasupai in their MUST visit places before they die. Ready, GO!

Birthday fun

Many birthdays this season. Including mine and Jack's. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of Jack and Luke yesterday. I don't think they like me snapping pictures of them, so I don't push it. But we had an awesome fun weekend.

Friday we had some burgers for lunch and watched a Pro baseball game (Astros vs Giants) in the evening. Saturday we went to a Brazilian Steak House for lunch and attended a Pro soccer game (Dynamos vs. Real Salt Lake) at night. Both were really good games, but the soccer game hit home. It had been a while since I had been to a good soccer game. :)

Now I just need to attend a professional Football, Basketball and Volleyball game. Then I will have seen them all.

Tough Love

My little brother Kevin left on his mission to Brazil, two weeks ago. And I already miss him. One year, eleven months and 2 weeks to go. I love him so much, and saying goodbye for two years was harder than I thought it would be.

2 years ago vs. today

So today I had the opportunity to get a haircut. After about 5 months. Eek! I have been letting my hair grow out. But truly, I love short hair. About two years ago, I cut it really short (picture above) but unlike this lady and this lady I do not think I can pull it off very well. And honestly I don't know what haircut can be pulled off when you have a jawline similar to this guy's (he can pull it off because he is a man).

Well while I figure out the perfect cut or build the courage to cut it like this, it will keep growing and I will keep asking for "just a trim".

Almost 3 months later.

Wo.... I am a little scared to post again since it has been so long (almost 3 months, which in the blogging world probably means 3 YEARS!). And look at blogger... since when has it looked this slick and fancy?

Well I decided that a nice way to ease into the blogging world would be to participate in this little thing called the August Break, I wanted to start August 1st but Jack and I are in the process of moving for the third time this year (I advise you to never do that. EVER).

My summer officially started yesterday, so now I can sit and enjoy my little blog that I missed so much. I will probably post one picture a day until September 15th. That way I feel like I can update my blog and still participate in the fun August break.

But here is my first picture:

I think most of you have seen this picture, it was taken at Nicole and Eric's wedding in Sacramento (may 14th). Jack had just started wearing glasses and I just think he looks oh so classy in a bow tie. :)

Kevin William

I think I mentioned briefly not long ago that we had gone down to UT to visit my family. Well, my little brother Kevin is going to serve a two year mission for our church and so we have been trying to spend some time together before he leaves.

1. Kevin William, isn't he a cutie? 2. Part of my family back in April.

Kevin is my one and only brother and I truly admire him for putting up with three other sisters his whole life.

I admit now that life was quite unfair to him a lot of times, like voting for what movie we were going to watch as a family or the fact that every time he would play soccer with his friends, an injury hurt a lot more than to those boys who had brothers to wrestle and quarrel with. Or the fact that all the girls would team up against him when there was an argument.

watching him open his mission call through Skype. So cute.

Kevin got called to serve in the São Paulo Interlagos Mission. And he is supposed to leave in October but is trying to turn in a petition to leave earlier (don't blame him... probably sick of us. haha).

I am determined to spoil him when he leaves on his mission, so he can get the advantage of having three sisters. I love this boy and I am so proud of him. ...... I am going to miss him so much.

Oh.... hey. Sorry I have completely abandoned this blog for 4 weeks now. But I promise you it is for a good cause: school, work and my husband. Well I have a little list here on a post-it note of all of the things that I NEED to tell you and post about. So stay tuned and every time I want to ignore my home work I will check one of those off my list.

But for today I will catch you up on my nails. :) This nail polish is called Cappuccino by Risqué (again!) Like I have mentioned before, I love nude colors on my nails and I think they are a must in your collection.

In the picture above I have two coats of Cappuccino on. The other reason why I love nude colors is because when you are leading a busy life like I am right now, the mistakes on the application and the chipping is not as noticeable! ;)

Can you tell I have been a little obsessed with 'blues' lately? Can you tell I fell asleep shortly after I painted my nails?

So Jack and I came down with this ungodly Stomach Flu. Apparently it's the latest trend around Rexburg. I have been in bed with no strength in my body for thirty something hours. And I've lost 4 Lbs. Thank goodness this can't be spread via Web. Or else I wouldn't be blogging.

Well this week I am wearing this beautiful blue! Me and my little sister swapped some nail polish when I went down to UT and this is one of the colors I got. It is a Brazilian nail polish called Azul Hortênsia by Risqué. Which literally translated it is called Hydrangea Blue. I disagree it really is cobalt blue. Lovely.

On the pictures above I am wearing 2 coats of nail polish, and like I said, it is not as glossy as it should be because I fell asleep shortly after. Sorry! I love how electric this color is.

Well, word of advice, start taking your Airborne and Vitamin C. I don't wish this flu upon anyone.

So one of my best friends, Ashley left Idaho. Life has been quite boring without her around. She asked me to do a guest post on her blog about Nail Polish so I did the {Top 5 Must Have Nail Polish} according to me!

And this week's nail polish is a Glittery one! Bling, bling. I was inspired by this, and when I realized I had almost that exact same color in my collection I decided to go for it. It's called Gold by Love & Beauty (Forever 21). Here is the closest one I could find on their website.

sorry the pictures are slightly blurry since I took them with my phone. I don't know where Jack put my camera.

On these pictures I have 3 coats of glitter polish. You can put less but I wanted them to look like the picture on the link above. Also one thing that I love about this nail polish is that even with 3 coats on, the surface does not get rough. It feels as if there was a matte finish on it. :) But I have found that the more layers you put on the easier it is to chip. But It will last you a good five days!

04.11.09 at the Salt Lake City Temple where we got married- My wedding ring. That's right. Three heart shaped diamonds.

That's right. Jack and I have been married for 2 years. TWO YEARS!

After hearing about my anniversary that was coming up someone from work told me that all of my enthusiasm and happiness would wear out after ten years of marriage. Here is what I think:

2 years of marriage = bliss

10 years of marriage = 2 years of marriage X 5

therefore

10 years of marriage = bliss X 5

10 years of BLISS COMPLETE!

Oh how I love Jack and our adventurous married life.

Nails Nails {Fails!}

Last week was so crazy! We had a road trip to Utah to visit family. It was glorious! But while I was in UT I did my nails (quickly if you cannot tell)! With this nail polish that a sweet reader suggested. I love it! It is called For Audrey by China Glaze.

In the pictures above I have two coats on. This color is the closest to the turquoise I wanted. And it is a tricky one too because it can look a lot different depending on the type of lighting. So click here to see all of the results on Google. Haha But it lasted for a long time! So pretty durable. It does have a very creamy consistency.

Well I will definitely be back with pictures of our weekend! I hope you like this color as much as I did. :)

I love running. I thought I would never say that! But ever since I started that little 5K program I have learned to love it. Ashley and I run 3 times a week and sometimes I just want to get my running shoes on and go even if it is not a Monday, Wednesday or a Friday. We are beginning week 5 this week! Only 4 more to go! :)

{S}Nail Nails

Oh no. I did it again. Belated nails! But I have an excuse. After spending a while painting my nails with what appeared to be a fine nail polish I realized after 4 hours of drying time that it must have been expired for it wouldn't dry.

So I had to wait till the next time I had more time. Here they are: No Room for the Blues by OPI. Lovely isn't it? There really isn't any room for the blues. Every time I look at my nails it makes me happy. Bright and cheerful!

In the picture above I have two coats of No Room for the Blues. Like I mentioned before. What I like about OPI is how big the brush is. And I also enjoy the creaminess of the lacquer, it is a little harder to manage but it covers really well. I should invest in more OPI! It did start to chip a little prematurely but it might be because I am a little careless sometimes.

Welcome Spring! Even though it looks dreadful here in Idaho. Hopefully now that it is calendar official Winter will get the hint. Sheesh!

My Handwriting

Ashley tagged me on this game. I usually don't follow up with chain games. I think there has been one on facebook I did, and of course so many when I was in 7th grade. Haha I was particularly nervous about this one. Since I would have to show you guys my handwriting [vulnerable]!

Well at the beginning of this year when I had a goal of writing on my journal, I decided I was going to start writing on cursive again because:

1. I see less and less people writing in cursive, it seems like cursive is dying

2. Because I write much faster that way

3. Because I have always disliked my cursive writing and I want to perfect it

Nails Nails {and Jane Eyre}

Wow. It has been a whole week and I haven't posted. And I was a little sad for not posting a much love monday post. I promise you one next week.

So last year I asked my friend Brynne what books she liked and she said that one of her favorites was definitely Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre. I trust her so I decided to read it. It was a little hard for me considering that English is my second language and I am a slow reader. But it was worth it. What a beautifully written book! I always had a highlighter with me because there were so many good quotes in it. READ IT!

Well I finished the book today and it so happened to be that my nails this week were the same color as my book.

I am not a huge fan of iridescent nail polish on my nails (I think the ridges make it look weird), so I put a layer of matte finish on top of the purple color. I love the way it looks. I have three really thin coats of Tempest on the pictures above and one of Matte about you.

Now back to Jane Eyre! Did you know that the new movie came out this last Friday? I am so excited for it! (And it got 83% on Rotten Tomatoes!)

Nails Nails

Last week I came home from work to find a lovely package on the table. It was from a friend I met online. Her name is Julia, needless to say she is a sweetheart. Recently she went to Brasil to visit and she brought me NOT only my favorite brazilian nail polish but THREE other ones! And of course I had to wear one of them for this week. So here it is: Terra by Risqué.

My thumb looks massive on the first picture. Haha

I love this color. It reminds me of the Grand Canyon or Havasupai in AZ. Oh and I even included a picture of the turquoise ring I told you guys about in a previous post. The orange and turquoise look great together don't they?

On the pictures above I have 2 coats of Terra and one clear top coat. It has been almost a week and it's barely started to chip. This is my favorite Brazilian nail polish. Thank you Anna for introducing it to me. And the picture below might be the reason why I love it so much.

Havasupai, AZ. When we were dating. It was truly magical.

Olive you and Much Love Monday

So remember when Ashley and I had a lot of time together because of all of the boys' recording? Well here is one of the things that we worked on. These simply adorable pillows. We got the idea from here and decided to try it ourselves.

PS: I do not sew. But Ashley helped me through it. I actually sewed the whole pillow by myself. (She made me do it, I am glad she did) Haha

I hope you love it as much as we do! People, this was really easy... you should definitely try it and let me know if you do!

Nails Nails

I PINKy promise this is the last red/pink color. I can't believe it is already March. But here I am to give you the last colors for February! The first nail polish is Pop Art Pink by Essie and the second is called Vidrilhos by Risqué from the 'Rendas do Brasil' collection (Brazilian Lace collection). I love the the bottle and the entire Lace collection!

I don't know what is up with the dust on my fingers. I think it is from a towel.

So in the pictures above I am wearing two coats of Pop Art Pink and one coat of Vidrilhos. What I love about Vidrilhos is that it gives the nail polish the perfect pearly look but not that iridescent look that I am not a huge fan of. So classy and feminine! Don't you agree?

I have quite a few new colors that I have been dying to try but since I just started in my new job I am going to wait a little so I won't be called out on having too "extreme" nail polish colors on! Haha Just you wait...

Berry Delicious Yogurt Cake {much love monday}

I love my heart shaped cake pan!

So my friend Leslie gave me this wonderful recipe for a yogurt cake. It is moist and delicious. And the best part is you can pretty much choose the flavor you want. This cake is perfect for a Summer dessert but I will make/eat it anytime of the year.

Leslie never gave me the name of the cake, and since I always choose a Berry yogurt I decided to give it this cheesy name, haha:

Berry Delicious Yogurt Cake

1 Box of Betty Crocker White Cake

4 Yoplait yogurt cups 6oz [170 g] (I always get the Fat free ones and I usually get 2 of one flavor for the cake and then 2 of another flavor for the topping, usually berries. I am yet to try something crazy like key lime pie and such. Let me know if you do try!)

1 container of fat free Cool Whip

3 egg whites*

1 1/3 cups of water*

1 box of berries (optional!)

Cake:

Pre-heat the oven to whatever setting the box says. Mix together the white cake mix, 2 yogurt cups, 3 egg whites and 1 1/3 cups of water, do not put the oil that the box calls for! Pour it on a greased pan, put it in the oven for however long the box says.

Topping:

Let the cake cool completely (I usually put it in the fridge) before adding the topping. Leave the cool whip in the fridge instead of freezer so it will be softer. Gently stir together the whip cream and the other 2 yogurt cups. Then spread it on the cake. Add berries on top if you would like! :)

*The egg whites and the water vary from mix to mix. So if the mix box says 3 eggs add 3 egg whites and if it calls for only 1 cup of water only put one cup of water. :)

Also I think it would be really cute to decorate and american flag on it with blueberries and strawberries on the 4th of July!

{belated} Nails Nails

I would like to apologize for not posting on Wednesday. But here it is! Nails Nails of the week. All sorts of pink and reds this month. This one is called One of a Kind by Essie. Ashley was kind enough to let me borrow it after I fell in love with it. Under artificial lighting it has an amazing orange undertone. And you can't really tell on these pictures but its a pretty coral red. I love coral.

I have three coats on and I am not sure if it is because I kind of did my nails in a hurry but it started chipping within 3 days.

So, I am looking for the perfect turquoise nail polish. Like.... Navajo turquoise. I always go shopping wearing my Navajo ring to compare it to the turquoise nail polishes out there. Haven't found one yet. Do you know of any?

There is this brazilian nail polish website called Unha Bonita (pretty nail) and they teach you how to do this 'misturinha' (little mix) to make the perfect turquoise color. I might try to do it if I can't find one. :)

Luke, the drummer, the twin-brother-in-law. Recording.

What I have been up to in the past 2 weekends? Hanging out with Ashley. The reasons why? 1st Because she is awesome and I need to spend as much time as I can with her before she leaves me in the Spring and 2nd because our husbands are in a band, (which I have told you guys about) Old Money and their CD release show is coming up. But first they need the CD. So a lot of recording has been going on.

Lots of time together to get crafty, do our nails, cooking and going shopping. My favorite activities! And this weekend we have to come up with their backdrop for the show. Stay tuned. I can't wait to share all the little things we've been creating. All while we listen to the same songs over and over again. Haha

Ashley posted about them in her blog. I love her mad picture taking skill. CHECK IT!

We are hoping to go do something exciting this 3 day weekend. Lava Hot Springs??? Yes please.

Jack's band, Old Money has had some busy weekends with their CD release show coming up. Which means that Ashley and I have spent a lot of time together. One of our little projects was to try out this tutorial which resulted in this:

We did use regular alcohol instead of Vodka. So maybe that is why it didn't turn out as good. We might have to pay a visit to the liquor store to try again. But I do like how it looks and Ashley's looked a lot better than mine.

The nail polish I used was Lilac Pastelle by Revlon. I LOVE this color but I am not a huge fan of Revlon nail polish. I find it really hard to get it to look smooth/even. But again, it might be my lack of skills. In the picture above I have two coats of LP and a base coat on top of the newspaper transfer. :) I hope you guys like it. Fun tutorial!

'Tis the season of love! So I started this month with some red nail polish. A-List by Essie. I was inspired by this post! Isn't Kirsten Dunst adorable? And I love her SHORT and small finger nails!

I wore three coats. And as usual it has been a week and it barely started to chip. Go Essie! It looks like this bright red under natural lighting but it darkens up quite a bit under artificial lighting.

Jack and I decided that we would switch back and forth on who is going to plan whatever special occasion it is. And I got Valentine's Day. I had all these ideas, I kind of gave up on them and now I am panicking because I don't know what I am going to do. What are you doing for Valentine's day? Help!

{Not} Giving Up

In the past few weeks I have been slacking on my 2011 goals. But it's only been one month and I can't give up!
When I wrote my New Years resolutions I decided that one of them was going to be to run a 5K. Remember? Well guess what? I can't even run 1 mile without stopping in fatigue! Haha So I decided to start a "couch to 5K" programs. I downloaded this app for my Itouch and started the routine on Friday. I think it will be good because it will give me motivation to go to the gym and I will cross off that resolution from my list once I officially run a 5K.

It's a 9 week program. So hopefully by Spring, running will become my BFForever (I really want it to be forever, a forever habit).

This is probably my favorite video/song by Vampire Weekend and of all time.

2nd Film

So remember how we thought Jack broke my Holga? Well we were still able to get some cool exposures! They are a little crazy but I love how unique each of them are. And I present to you, Film The Second.

These two were taken on New Year's eve at the little Carnival in Panama City Beach. CRAZY! I love how you can kind of see Jack on the second one. Can you spot the Ferris Wheel AND the Carrousel on the first picture?

The horseys that lived in our backyard. This is when the accident happened. They were a little vicious.

Nails Nails

Last week I decided to tone it down and go for something more subtle. Which worked out well because I ended up having a job interview that week. This nail polish is definitely in my top 5. I love this nude color and I have to thank Anna for introducing it to me. It's from Brazil and it is called Chic Pele (as in skin, not Pelé like I thought it was. Haha) from Colorama. It has a light pink and purple undertone.

Again, forgive my ridge-y nails.

I have two coats on and it was enough. It is really glossy and that is something I love about Brazilian nail polish. It started chipping after 4 days, but I was doing some deep cleaning, so that might be the reason why.

And speaking of nude, I have been looking for a nude (and also a red) lipstick for my skin tone. Do you have any suggestions?

Today is my Half Birthday and my twin sister's and J. K. Rowling's and Harry Potter's. So to celebrate Jack and I went to the Cocoa Bean to get a cupcake. I asked the girl if she had a candle and she excitedly answered "yes" and proceeded to ask me if it was my birthday and I said "no, but it's my half-birthday", she went "oh..." and wasn't too happy about giving the candle away. Oh well, the "Better Than Whatever" cupcake was delicious! I am not a huge cupcake fan but you gotta have some sort of cake on your birthday (or half birthday) right?

Sorry, I couldn't resist adding the mustache to the picture, it was too perfect. Oh and they didn't have a lighter or matches. :( I still made ~~half~~ a wish. ;)

Meet Lili. She doesn't 'meow' she 'mews', it's the cutest thing. It makes her sound like a lady, so feminine. Jack and I are house and cat-sitting for a couple of months. I am allergic to cats but I don't mind taking Claritin (non-drowsy) everyday to have this fur ball cuddling on our laps and running around the house. She moves like a ninja and every move is premeditated. She is as stubborn as they come, but I love her so very much.

Nothing like this nail polish to help me get rid of the winter blues. Haha some call it party in a bottle, Jack calls it Unicorn sneeze, my mom called it 'Carnaval'. I asked Santa for the Deborah Lippmann- Happy Birthday nail polish but they were sold out at the time. And as I was researching it online I found out that they came out with a dupe that instead of $18 was $4.99 (Milani- Gems). I looked in over 5 CVSes to try to find it and when I was about to give up I found the last bottle of Gems they had in the store (in TX). :)

Before that I had gone to a Nordstrom to see if they had 'Happy Birthday', but they only had the tester so I painted my thumbnail with it and stared at it thinking I would never be able to find HB or Gems. A day after I found Gems!

Sorry it is not a good picture. And YES that is Jack's (giant) thumbnail. Hahaha

So they are pretty much identical. The only thing different I noticed was that HB has a little pink glitter that Gems does not. Which I think is worth the $13 difference. ;)
It is not that hard to apply I was able to get plenty of glitter with two coats (HB took me 3 coats). The surface stays a little rough because of the glitter. I tried a coat of clear nail polish on top to smooth it but it started chipping the same day. So I would leave it the way it is. The worst part is removing it, the bottle says to use acetone based nail polish remover because it is hard to get this thing off your nails! Here and here are other blogs better comparing the two.

I know this might not be the nail polish for everyone. But I just love some sparkle on my nails!

Paper love

It has been a little while since I finished this little project. But I thought I would share with you since I was really proud of it. It is an origami Kusudama flower ball. I decided to give it to my mother-in-law so she could hang it in her Christmas tree. Remember this picture? That's what it was.

I love almost anything japanese and folding paper is therapeutic to me. I have a goal in life of becoming really good at wrapping presents. You can easily find tutorials online on how to make this ball. It might look intricate but it is really easy, the only thing is that you have to do A LOT of folding. So if you have some spare time this is a good little project.

What I used:

-Scissors

-Elmer's glue

-2 Winn Dixie grocery paper bags

-12" of string

-A lot of spare time

I didn't spend any money doing this project, since I had all of the materials. :) Here is a video I found on YouTube but there are many others if you search for 'Kusudama flower ball' or 'Origami flower ball'. I hope I have time this year to make some for our Christmas tree. Yay for crafts. I need to get back on my crafting mood. I have many ideas for Valentines Day. :)

These gloomy days here in Idaho are giving me the blues. Every time I have to pack or unpack our life away, I curse our nomad/gypsy lives.

My whole life was filled with moving. I graduated High School at the 10th school I attended in my academic years. You would think I would be used to it. But every time is the same thing, I don't know what to expect or how long I will be staying there. It's like a first day of school. I try not to get too attached because soon I will be somewhere else, it never works. Jack and I have had six different addresses since we've been married.

As I was driving to Idaho (somewhere in NM, while Jack laid in the passenger seat aching from another migraine) I wondered where we would be in 10 years. Will we still be involved in this unstableness? Where will we be?

I always dream of a house with big windows where I can paint the walls, hang pictures and get crazy designing/renovating every room of the house, where we can grow old and raise our family. Even though this dream house and family seem really far away I like to dream, and I know that I am not the only one.

As long as I am with Jack I know I am home. And that is why I am in Idaho, was in Florida, stayed in Alabama and lived in Ohio.

Ironically this song played in the xm radio when I was having these crazy thoughts.

Last week I wore this beauty as we drove from Florida to Idaho (I know you must be tired of hearing about it). OPI- Done Out in Deco. This is my first OPI nail polish (or should I say Lacquer?) and I LOVE it. I had heard wonderful things about it and they are true! It has been a week and it barely started to chip. What I love most about it is the size of the brush. In two strokes you have your nail covered.

Sorry about the quality of the picture on the right! Also it looks pretty dark. It is a little lighter most of the time.

In the pictures above I have two coats of it on and it was plenty, since it is pretty thick.

I had been looking for a lavender/lilac color and I found this one in the clearance section at Ulta for $3! Score! I am going to miss Ulta. I don't care much about what nail polish collection/color is in. I wear whatever I am in the mood for. So I get really happy when I find a color that I like for less than half of the original price (who doesn't?!).

On the road again

2,328 is the number of miles we will be driving this week. I love road trips but I am pretty sure that by the end of this one I will temporarily have a change of mind about it. Thank goodness we have two lovely stops on the way, to see our dear families in Houston and Orem.

We are on a week long road trip (see map below).

It's good to see everyone updating their blogs, I think there was a little pause after the holidays. I felt a little lonely without hearing from everybody. I guess I need to get a life.... FAST!

Last week I painted my nails with Wicked by Essie. And let me tell you that Essie and I are becoming pretty good friends. Especially because yesterday I was at Walmart and when I was looking through their nail polish section I discovered that they now carry Essie nail polish! We are on our way back to the middle of nowhere so it is good to know that I will be able to find them at the local Walmart (or will I?).

When I paint my nails dark or red or any color that is really contrasting, I like to file them down as short as I can get. :) I think it looks better.

I got this one at Ulta with the Matte About You from the previous Nails post. It was on clearance too! Yes!

Now back to Wicked, in the pictures above, I applied three coats. What I love about this nail polish is that it's not too thick. Which makes it really versatile/cooperative. The down side is that you have to apply more coats, which may be my lack of skills but when I applied two coats it was too streaky. It lasted me a whole week without any chipping. Even after I "deep cleaned" the house in Florida before we turned it in. I am impressed!

I hadn't bought/worn dark nail polish since High School, so I think this was a good addition to my collection. I like the wine color, it's a good winter nail polish. Do you have a favorite Winter nail polish color?

1st Film

Here are some of the exposures from my first Holga film. Jack took some of them. He is way better at taking pictures than me. These were all taken while we were in Texas.

1. Me in my sunday attire 2. Our dear friend Korby 3. Jack at Gullo's 4. The ornament I made for my mom-in-law out of paper sacks from the grocery store.

It has been a tradition of ours to every year during the Christmas break, pay a visit to Gullo's (important family in the town) decked out house!

Jack dropped my Holga as he ran away from the crazy but beautiful horses that live in our backyard. It was pretty funny but my Holga may or may not be broken. The lens popped up a little and when we popped it back in place we weren't able to switch it from portrait to infinity and in between anymore. We'll see how the pictures turn out the next time we develop the film. Maybe it'll turn out to be a happy accident.

Do you like them? I do... Of course they don't even compare to some of the ones i've seen out there but there are many films to come (if the camera is not broken completely! Ha.)

When we first got married Jack found out that I sleep talked. And he would take advantage of me by asking me questions when I started talking at night and then tell the family (and sometimes friends) about it. How cruel! Well last night after an 8 hour drive (there and back) to pick up our new car he was exhausted. So he went to bed and I stayed up for another hour or two. I snuck into the bedroom ready to go to bed and here is the dialogue:

Jenny: (tiptoes into the bedroom)
Jack: I figured...
Jenny: (surprised) Figured what?
Jack: That you wouldn't like it
Jenny: (realizing that this was her chance to get him back) Like what?
Jack: The family rug... mat.
Jenny: Family rug? You mean the mats for the car?
Jack: Yes (matter-of-factly)
Jenny: (giggling now) But I haven't seen it where did you get it?
Jack: Tom...
Jenny: Tom?
Jack: Tom Landry (Here is a link so you know who Tom Landry is)
Jenny: (Laughing out loud... I couldn't help it) Who is Tom Landry? (I really didn't know, but I had heard the name before, and I had a feeling he didn't sell rugs.)
Jack: (Getting upset) You know exactly who he is! (I think he started waking up right here)
Jenny: No I don't (Laughing hard) I GOT YOU! You are not even awake.
Jack: I AM COMPLETELY AWAKE. (He wasnt screaming just acting really annoyed.)
Jenny: Oh really? Then what were you talking about? Because I have no idea.
Jack: You know.... the guy we called yesterday about the car! (I think here he was awake but he has know idea what we talked about 1 minute ago)
Jenny: No idea. But if you want me to tell you what just happened...
Jack: SHHHHHH.... I'm trying to sleep.
Jenny: Ok.... I love you

Jack: (reluctantly) love you.
Jenny: (giggle giggle until I fell asleep)

I got him. I got him good!

This morning when I told him, he laughed and told me who Tom Landry was (Tom is brought up many times in his favorite TV show, "King of the Hill"). And then he blamed it on the lack of sleep and the 3 month long car shopping! I can't even tell you how many people we called and visited so we could find the perfect car. And we finally found it. I am so excited to drive a car 11 years younger than the old Tahoe. :)

It might sound a little silly but this year I want to try to do my nails weekly and get better at it too! I bought some new nail polish and I like them.... A LOT. So I wanted to share with you. I really like the look of matte nail polish and I found this Essie one that you can put over any nail polish and have it look matte! I found it at Ulta in the clearance section. Yes!

I love it. And I also love the American Apparel mint color with and without the matte finish.

Forgive my ridge-y nails... I looked it up online and it said its hereditary. (Thanks mom!) But I think one of those little buffers can fix it. I shall try it someday.

During the summer, we bought a little water camera at Target and took awesome pictures with it on our trip to Crab Island, FL. I still need to post those! They are so great. I loved the suspense and the wondering of how they would turn out. When we got the pictures back I fell in love. I love the look of pictures taken with a film camera. They feel and look so nostalgic. I don't understand much about photography but I sure do appreciate that which is pleasing to the eye.
Well I liked them so much Jack got me this "toy camera" the HOLGA for Christmas which is supposed to bring fun and unexpected exposures! Always a surprise. Here is a little gallery. I can't wait to take more pictures with it and get to know its tricks and then share the results with you guys! Isn't it adorable?

This week is going to be busy so I am just going to go ahead and leave you with my wishes that you will all have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! I am sad I don't get to see my family until january but I am happy that I will be with the in-laws for a couple of days. It is the most wonderful time of the year and I am so thankful for having been taught since I was little what Christmas is all about. I love this talk given by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland talking about the true meaning of this wonderful celebration. In it, he quotes Dr. Seuss:

“Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before! ‘Maybe Christmas,’ he thought, ‘doesn’t come from a store.’ ”

Right now we are living in the panhandle of Florida, some people like to call it the Alabama extension because it certainly does not feel like "Florida" it feels like we are in the deep south (which we are) about 15 minutes from Georgia and 20 from Alabama.

My first sunday at church, the Bishop wanting to introduce Jack and I as a couple to the ward, had us stand up and said something like "Jack and Jennifer (emphasis on JENNIFER), she goes by Jenny but when I say it together I should probably say Jennifer." And then he laughed and so did the congregation and we were completely clueless. That night he invited us over to have dinner at his house. When we were at his house he brought up what happened at church and apparently he noticed our "HU?!" faces. And he explained to us that in the south they call a male donkey a Jack and a female donkey a Jenny. Haha what are the chances. I had no idea! And so when I got home I decided to do research it. And sure enough in the dictionary it says:

So I decided to play with it and come up with a header that had something to do with our new discovery. I have always thought donkeys were adorable. I mean... look at it!!! I love its eyes, ears and nose!

Running Buddy

Tall, dark and handsome. Meet Pablo.

When I get bored I go running but not to be healthy, just to cancel out all the junk food I eat throughout the day. Well one day I went running and this little guy started following me. He followed me the whole route and hung out at the front yard for about 3 hours. The next week he was on a leash. And would just bark and cry when I'd run pass his house. Well last week he was out and about again and every time I go running he shows up from nowhere! Its really funny and it always scares me since I usually have my ipod in and I cant hear him sneaking up on me. He keeps up with me and acts as if I was his owner. He has a really graceful way of jumping (it's as if he were frolicking). I dislike the fact that he has to pee on everything that is perpendicular to the horizon and he tries to bite cars' tires as they drive by. But I enjoy his smiling company. I named him Pablo.

Only Jack knows how much I want a puppy. We have decided that as soon as we move to a town where housing actually allows pets we are going to find the perfect Boston Terrier ♥ for us.

For some very STUPID reason, that I can't even remember, we never decorated for Chritmas the first year we were married. On Thanksgiving day this year Jack and I bought our first Christmas tree!!!!! FRESH CUT! :) It is beautiful! And it smells like heaven!

I know it looks big but it is only about my height.

Look at how big that one was! It would never fit in our tiny living room.

I love Chritmas time! Putting the tree together reminded me of the part in the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas where Jack Skellington finds out about Christmas he sings:

Thanksgiving Bliss

This is where we spent our Thankgiving. The Golf coast (We started from Panama City Beach and drove west on the coast towards Destin the favorite). It was such a beautiful day and the weather was impeccable. I really like this picture that Jack took even though I ruined it while I washed off the sand from my feet.

There are so many things I am thankful for and that day I was especially thankful for Jack's internship, the ONE day off that Jack got for the holiday, the weather and for seafood! (we decided to go out to eat since all we have is a small pot and a small frying pan which I am so thankful for... I don't think you can cook a Thanksgiving dinner with just those. I can barely manage regular dinner with a series of relays between the two).

Oh, how I am going to miss this place.

Texas Jack and the Tennessee Outlaws turned into O No Yoko and now I think they have settled for Old Money.... that's their new band name.

Old Money played a show at Sammy's when Jack went up to Rexburg for a weekend. It was a lot of fun! It was seriously one of the best nights I've had in a long time. I got to see some of my favorite people in the world before I came to Florida for an undetermined amount of time.

They played with the Boise band Spondee and they also played with Nikki Forova from California.

Nem lembro quando que comecei a frequentar os salões e as manicures mas eu sei que esse amor por esmaltes cresceu! Acho que ainda mais quando me mudei para os EUA... Antes eu não dava valor ao preço e qualidade do serviço prestado as manicures maravilhosas do Brasil (uma salva de palmas a todas elas... menos para aquelas que tiram bife!)

E agora desde que me mudei tive que aprender a fazer minhas próprias unhas e tirar minha própria cuticula... Vê se pode. Como eu era MIMADA e nem sabia! Ainda nao sou tão boa quanto eu gostaria de ser (como a minha amiga Barbara e minha irmã Brenda) mas fica bom o suficiente pra eu ficar contente. (rimou)

Essa semana fiz minhas unhas e usei dois esmaltes diferentes. Nas mãos eu usei esse:

vermelho mas tem um tom de laranja)

Eu amo meus esmaltes brasileiros. Semana passada estava com Colorama Chic Pele (FAVORITO! Thank you Anna!) nas mãos e Colorama Noite Quente nos pés. Nunca coordeno as cores das mãos com as dos pés porque se não eu me enjoo da cor. Estou começando a expandir minha coleção com alguns esmaltes americanos e os da Sally Hansen tem sido bem bonzinhos, pelo menos esses dois! Duas camadas foi o suficiente! Quem sabe eu começo a tirar umas fotos das cores para mostrar aqui.

Eu adoro que o Brasil tem modinhas de esmalte, entao me atualizem! Quais são as novas cores e tal... Quanto que custa pra fazer as unhas por ai? Só por curiosidade, afinal faz quase 4 anos que não vou para o Brasil. :( Enquanto isso no lustre do castelo eu vou sonhar.

Can I wait any longer?

Jack is a music lover. Sometimes I think he loves music more than he loves me... hahaha I don't think I can top his love for music but he taught me to love good music too.

At the beginning of October Jack found out that Bob Dylan (Jack's idol) was going to play in Tallahassee, which is less than an hour from where we live. FREAK OUT! Haha he bought the tickets that day. And they WERE NOT cheap. Well the countdown begun for November 11th! Last week Jack came home with a funeral look on his face and almost teary-eyed. He said that he had an email in his inbox to write a REVIEW on Bob Dylan concert. The show WAS on October 11th! It was a sad day, we lost out money and we'll probably never be able to see Bob Dylan live since he is getting pretty old, maybe too old to sing.

Well we found out the same week that one of our favorite bands Iron and Wine would be playing in Tallahassee so to make up for the unfortunate event we bought tickets for that and I cannot wait!!!

If you have never heard of Iron and Wine you should check them out HERE. One of their songs was in the Twilight soundtrack (here- it is also the song we were going to dance to at our wedding reception).

Potter & Panda

Jack and I met in the Fall of 2007. And Halloween marks when we started liking each other as more than friends. :) If I am not wrong, our official first date was at a haunted Mill. So this year it has been 3 years since we have liked each other

This year Jack and I improvised. It seriously took Jack 2 minutes to figure out what he was going to be for Halloween and I had brought my last year costume (the panda beanie) in case we decided to dress up and hadn't had time to look. Well we had fun! Mr. Potter and I went to a Festival here in town, with hundreds of people and I KID YOU NOT Jack and I were the ONLY kids above 12 dressed up. Not even the high schoolers or the college kids from the community college. LAME! But it made the occasion even more fun.

The birthday boy.

Lately I have been spending a lot of time at my dear friend Anna's house, therefore I have been spending a lot of time with my favorite little guy: Thomas. Jack and I have the honor of being Thomas' godparents! Last night when I was at their house I showed Thomas the photobooth on my computer and he had quite a bit of fun. He is the smartest "almost 2 years old"! His vocabulary amazes me. I believe that within a year he will be speaking portuguese better than me. This week he turns 2!

Spending so much time with Anna, Thomas and the twins makes me want to have one of my own. I found this video on youtube today and it is the cutest thing. Almost 4 hours of playing in a 2 minute video! Cute baby, cute apartment, cute song! :)

thrifty wizards

So Jack and I are trying to save money (who isn't?!).
Reasons why we want to save money:

-Go to Brazil
-Buy a new car
-A new guitar for Jack
-A new computer for Jack
-Pay bills/housing/school

Today we were talking over the phone and we decided that if we were wizards we could save a lot of money on transportation (plane tickets and gas are so expensive). Here are the options:

Option #1. Use floo powder and borrow someone's fireplace to get to Jack's fireplace. Anyone willing to let me borrow theirs?

Option #2. A broom, but it would have to be a Cleansweep because the Nimbuses and Firebolts are way too pricey.

Option #3. (probably the fastest and the hardest). Learn how to apparate, in the blink of an eye I would find myself next to Jack.

Option #4. Make a portkey, out of a seemingly worthless object, connected to Jack's current location.

Option #5. Magical creatures such as Thestrals and Hippogriffs could fly you to your destination.

I think I would choose option #3 even though the lessons and the test I would have to take sound intimidating, I think it would be worth it.

I am sure there are many other ways the folks in the Wizarding world could use as transportation (Knight Bus, Magic carpet, Hogwarts express, etc.) but the ones that I named sound like the most economical ones.

Oh, if only... if only.

Major decision.

Major meaning:

This week I made a big decision. It took a lot of prayer, pondering and analyzing. I decided to go join Jack in Florida and change my Major.

It is a bittersweet feeling.

Bitter:
Having to leave the Interior Design program, pretty much for good. It is what I have always loved. Having to leave our "official home", car and furniture. Having to live out of a suit case for about 6 months. Leaving my dear friends whom I love so much.

Sweet:
My heart rejoices when I think of me and Jack living in Florida in this cute little town whose nickname is "the city of southern charm". Frolicking through the beautiful antebellum houses and basking in the Florida sun. Being able to cook for two, and waking up next to him. Spending winter in a snow-free place. And sweetest of all, I will be able to change my track to Jack's track so I wont have to wait 3 years to graduate and probably never be apart from Jack. Which means we will be out of Rexburg sooner!

I will probably be leaving Rexburg in about two weeks. We just need to figure everything out. Storage, car and all of that. But we'll be back in April, for summer semester!

I left my heart in Florida.

Putting my head down on the pillow on that empty bed and Sundays are what I dread the most when my other half is away from me. Today was our first Sunday apart. Thankfully, I survived. At church a girl gave a talk and she talked about how people will publicly announce their love for their spouse or family and forget to let them (the ones they love) know about it. I think I am the opposite and I am pretty sure Jack is sick of hearing it from me in every format possible (text, letters, phone calls, .pdf, .docx, etc.) and like I have mentioned before, I am not the type of person that displays affection publicly but today I just want the world to know that I love this man. Yesterday marked our one year and five months of being married. This picture was taken when we were dating. I can always tell the difference between him and his identical twin brother in pictures of when they were little, if Jack is biting his bottom lip, just like this picture. It is one of my favorite of him. I can't wait to see him, whenever that might be. Hopefully in no longer than two months.

We received some big news last week a day before we were supposed to leave for Montana for Jack's internship. Jack got transferred to Florida! We were so bummed at first because we were looking forward to being within driving distance from each other. But now I can see all of the positives of living in Florida. I have lived there before and I absolutely loved it there. And best of all we are going to be so close to BEAUTIFUL BEACHES (Like the one on the picture below). I am only going to be there for 3 weeks but depending on how long Jack's internship is I might move there in December since I am off track in the winter. I am finally going to get my TAN on! YAY!

I will be back later to update you all on our trip to San Diego! :) It was beautiful! And also I am now 21 and we moved into a new apartment in Rexburg! I don't want this break to end, it has been so nice.

Hope everyone is doing great, I miss posting on my blog. :)

Jenny Cooks?

My poor mother. So many times she tried to teach me how to cook, and as much as I wanted to learn, it never happened. I am the kind of person that has to follow the recipe word by word, but I hope to some day be so good at cooking I can just add a pinch of this and a bit of that and I will have some delicious meals, I also hope to be able to cook something good with what I have at home, improvise, instead of having to have everything that a recipe calls for.

A couple of weeks ago my mother-in-law sent me a link to this website called The Pioneer Woman, in this website she shares recipes step-by-step! We have tried quite a few and they are amazing. Not to mention she is really funny and her pictures are amazing!

I was telling a friend about the website and she said she had heard of it and told me about two other website she loves and now I love them too. We have tried recipes from these three websites and none of them have failed! The other two are Smitten Kitchen and Joy the Baker!

Outdoorsie 4th of July!

Awesome weekend! We drove to Yellowstone in Montana (My first time there!). Jack, Jenny, Luke, Jamie and James. We didnt have much planned, but we knew that we wanted to go to Yellowstone, camp, Grand Teton, Jackson and fireworks! It all worked out well! I was telling them in the car about how every camping trip I learn something new from my mistakes. Here is what I learned with this trip:
- Never drink a whole bottle of water right before you go to sleep and not go to the bathroom. I was up all night, because I was too afraid to walk to the bathrooms by myself in "bear land"
- Don't forget to bring your sleeping bag. Really uncomfortable and cold to just sleep with a blanket and a pillow.
- Do not forget your hand sanitizer.

It was so beautiful. It is kind of sad that all the places we went to are covered in snow 9 months out of the year. I am glad we got to enjoy the beauty of these places in the warm weather! :)

Jackson had a "Visitors Ward" on Sunday that we were able to attend. It was awesome! There were a ton of people there, about 150 I would say.
Jenny Lake was gorgeous too and the scenic hike is so enjoyable! I still have not figured out why you can't swim in Jenny Lake. Does anybody know?

Weather Situation

Today I went to one of Jack's soccer games. The weather was terrible, it was extremely windy and the temperature kept dropping as it got darker. Since he started playing this season there has been ONE time that the weather was decent. The other times it was way too cold/windy and last time they played we had to leave early because there was a severe snowstorm (two weeks ago). I know it is a constant complaint and it is in the everyday conversation of a Rexburg resident. But I just wanted to post this video we saw on the internet today, a Hail storm in Oklahoma City.
Although the weather is crappy here, I am really glad we don't have this type of weather. Let's just say, I would not enjoy riding my scooter to school under this condition.

Crazy hu? For a few moments I was grateful for our weather.

My lovely Wacom Tablet Case.

For this semester I was asked to buy a Wacom tablet as one of the supplies for one of my classes. And so I did. I bought a Bamboo Fun, Medium size. Well I love it. It matches my computer! But the device itself is sweet. I have fun with it.

I am still getting used to all of the Adobe Suite programs. But I love playing with my tablet, I have used it to do the baby's' shower invitation for Anna and I used it to do a Cinco de Mayo poster for a youth activity in my little sister's stake.

Well every Wednesday I have to take it to class with me. I didn't have a cover for it... and it was driving me crazy because I just knew that that scratch would show up sooner or later. I researched but didn't find much of a variety...

I talked to my friend Anna and she said she would make me one. I bought this wonderful fabric at an open house for this Etsy shop that is located near Rexburg (The Frabric Store).

Well this passed Sunday Anna sewed this beautiful case. She taught me a little bit of sewing so I sewed a couple of edges together. But the rest was all her! I love the final result. I love the Kokeshi dolls. I love everything about it.

1 year, 1month and 1 week.

It has been 1 year, 1 month and 1 week since we have been married. I meant to post something on our one year anniversary but we had a lot going on. Well it has been the greatest one year of my life. I am not much of a PDWA (Public Display of Written Affection) person, but I just have to say... I have the BEST husband in the world. He is always so patient and sweet. And I love every minute we spend together. I love it how we can make up from a fight so quickly. He is definitely the best roommate I have ever had! Ha ha.

April 11th of 2009 was the best day of my life. To know that we are sealed together for all eternity is the best feeling. We still have all these years ahead of us and I just can't wait for all of the adventures we are going to go through together.

I am truly enjoying this "growing old together" thing

I can officially say that I have been to California! This trip added 2 states to my list: California and Oregon. So now I have been to 17 states! It was so much fun. A nice little break from Idaho. As much as I am grateful for the opportunity to be here in Rexburg, I can't help but think that sometimes I would rather be anywhere else but here. Everywhere on the Pacific coast was extremely gorgeous.

-We drove through Oregon tried to go to Crater Lake but it was closed. We got to see some pretty parts of the park though.
-I have never seen so many Hippies in my life. It was crazy we went to this organic food store and every single male in the store had hair longer than mine. Oh yeah we saw one with short hair but he was with his boyfriend who had long hair! Ha ha
-We drove through Napa which was extremely beautiful!
-We tried to camp the first night but it was raining so it was not very fun. So the second night we just stayed at a hotel in Eureka.
-We saw the biggest trees ever and drove through a couple of them.
-We got lost in a trail for about 2 hours, and afterward we found out that that was the trail where "Big Foot" was spotted the most.
-We drove South until we hit San Francisco very different from any city I have been to but I loved it.
-I saw the Pacific for the first time.
-And we visited our friend Nicole who is leaving to go on a mission next week.

What a wonderful weekend. Although driving to California with my 2 brothers-in-law was not what I was envisioning for our one year anniversary weekend, I had a lot of fun and was amazed at the beauty of California and Oregon.

These passed three weeks have been crazy! 3 road trips in 3 weeks. Well school starts tomorrow. So I wont have time to post pictures and tell you everything I have done. I got to be in two new states, Oregon and California! So much fun. I had the opportunity to throw a baby shower for my dear friend Anna. She is having TWINS! And Jack and I have been married for ONE YEAR! I love all of my friends and family, they are so good to me. And I specially love my husband. HE IS THE BEST!

Here is a picture of me with a mustache! Ha ha Jack went to get us a pizza the other day and they had fake mustaches in those little ¢25 machines. So he got one and we had a lot of fun taking pictures with mustaches on.

I will be back with all of our fun pictures. Even though I have been a little stressed I am loving life and the warm weather!!!

Meet Polo

For Conference weekend we came to UT. Jack had never been to Conference at the Conference Center, so that was fun. We went to Luke's mission reunion and hung out with some of our good friends. It was a blast. I did not get any pictures because I forgot my camera in my Best Friend's car. Well Jack went back to Rexburg to face his Finals Week, and I stayed here in UT to go to a friend's wedding on Wednesday. It has been fun to stay with my family. The newest member of the family is Polo the cute puppy you see in the picture above. He is such a cute dog. My parents got him at the end of last year and he is so much FUN! My dad keeps telling us that Polo loves Jack and I (he loves Jack more than he loves me, but when Jack is not here I can have him all for myself). Ha ha. He is a smart dog and loves being with people and when he is alone he gets so sad. My family is such a dog family, they can't help it, it is pretty funny.

In the Fall, Jack and I might be moving to a place in Rexburg where they might allow small dogs. So we have been researching to see what is the best small dog for us. I think we like the Boston Terriers! Jack is going to be gone for an internship this Fall so I am more and more convinced I want a puppy to keep me company. Last Fall it was terrible being alone in that apartment.

Well it is lovely to get out of Rexburg once in a while, we went to our favorite places to eat here in UT, Pei Wei (YUM) and Chipotle! Conference was glorious! Yay for Easter Weekend!

It's the weekend already!?

It was a crazy week! Probably the busiest since last semester. We had that little show on Tuesday that went okay. I didn't do as well as I had hoped for. I could not hear my voice at all and since we were the first band to go, all the technical problems happened then. But it was fun and hopefully one day I will have a chance to redeem myself! Ha ha.

Texas Jack and The Tennessee Outlaws

For those of you who know my husband, you have probably noticed how much he loves a guitar. He came up with this band name called Texas Jack and The Tennessee Outlaws. He used to be in a band in high school, so since then it has always been his dream to play in a band again. Well somehow they (him and his brother who plays the drums) were asked if they could play at a venue here in Rexburg called The Box. So tonight at 7pm they will be performing at this place so if you would like to come and support them that would be awesome. It is on Main Street, I think right next to the Plasma Center and Mikes Music. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I am doing a little part in one of the songs they are going to play. I will be singing... I do not sing. I am not really good at it but Jack is trusting me with this one. Hopefully it will sound good.

We are back!

So I am finally posting on my blog (after 6 months of absence) I was frustrated with Blogspot, plus super busy with school. Well Fall semester was kind of an uneventful semester anyway. But I promise that I am back. Thanks to Anna who convinced me to come back to Blogger by teaching me some tricks to personalize my blog. And that definitely made me feel a little more confident on blogging! :D

Well Jack and I are doing well. Jack is on track and I am off-track and unemployed. With all this time to spare I was able to do a lot of things. For example, finally reading all of the Harry Potter books in English! I had only read the first four in Portuguese so I started again in English last Summer and this Winter I read from the 3rd to the 7th! I absolutely love the HP books! And the ending was awesome.

And for those of you who are HP fans like me... Have you heard of the Harry Potter World that is coming out this Spring at the Universal Orlando Resort? I am glad Jack is a HP fan too because I really would like to go there! I have never been to Orlando, but I know where I will want to go when I am there!

Antiquing in Cambridge, OH

I know it has been a long time since I last updated this blog, but here is a list of a few things that have happened:

- Jack and his twin brother turned 24!

- We went to Cedar Point. AMAZING. (It was my first time at a real amusement park)

- We rode to the 2nd tallest and fastest Roller Coaster in the world called Top Thrill Dragster.

- I got a really late birthday present, a new camera!

- Jack and I sang at the Cambridge Ohio Branch's Talent Show (Carolina- Ben Gibbard)

- Jack's little brother, Ned, left to go on a mission to Ukraine.

I think those summarize everything that has been going on. Well On this post I wanted to talk about the town that we are staying at. It is called Cambridge, and it is in OH. It's a pretty small town. Definitely bigger that Rexburg (it has a SUPER Walmart!) ha ha. There is not much to do but one of the things that we have done, is antiquing! On Main Street they have at least 4 antique stores. They are awesome! I have bought several things, I wish I could get some furniture but I think that taking those to Rexburg would be kind of a pain. Below are some of the things that I have bought. Three post cards, I thought the Idaho one was pretty cool and the other 2 are form Brazil! They are Rio de Janeiro post cards. I am thinking about framing the Brazil ones up! :) I bought this sweet pair of old lady sun glasses, my favorite thing about them is how everything looks through them. It makes everything look vintage and happier.

I am getting everything ready to leave next tuesday. Going back to Rexburg. Jack will be back in November. :( 2 months apart. I hope to have time to put all of the awesome pictures we took at Cedar point, and many other we have taken with our new camera!

For my bridal shower, Anna Baer, a really good friend of mine gave me this "game" for my Nintendo DS called Cooking Personal Trainer. Summer semester was a crazy semester and I never had the chance to use it. So now that I have time I decided to give it a try. The recipe I picked was Chocolate Mousse, which is my favorite dessert. The "game" is amazing! It gives you all the ingredients, the steps and it will guide you through each one of those steps! If you don't have the ingredients ot will let you do a shopping list. It has explanations and terminology! :) So awesome! You can pick recipes by country, ingredients or just by doing a search! Unfortunately there are no Brazilian recipes. :( But I have done a Scandinavian Beef Hash that was pretty delicious and the chocolate mousse was the second one I tried! It turned out GREAT! Yummmm. I took pictures of the ingredients! Here is the recipe:

(4 servings)

INGREDIENTS:

3 Egg Yolks

2 Tbsps Heavy Cream

4 Tbsps Sugar

3 Egg Whites

5 oz. Dark Chocolate

STEPS:

Preparation:

1. Chop the dark chocolate finely

2. Mix the heavy cream and the yolks together

Cooking:

3. Pour water into the saucepan and heat to around 124º F over low heat

4. Put the chocolate in a mixing bowl and place the bowl in the hot water

5. Using a rubber spatula, stir the chocolate as it melts, then remove the bowl from the heat.

6. Continue to stir with the spatula, and add the egg yolks and cream little by little to the melted chocolate.

7. Put the egg whites into a mixing bowl and whisk them briskly. (Until it is white and fluffy)

8. Add the sugar.

9. Continue to whisk, mixing in the sugar. (Until the mixture is thick enough to form firm peaks on the surface when the whisk is lifted)

10. Add a third of the egg whites to the chocolate and mix them in throughly with the spatula.

11. Add half of the remaining egg whites and fold them into the chocolate.(Fold: This method uses a gentle motion to fold air in with egg whites, ensuring that they do not lose their foamy texture.)

12. Add the remaining egg whites and fold them in, taking care not to fold the air out of them.

13. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave it to set in the refrigerator.

SERVING:

14. Fill a bowl with warm water, and place the spoon in the water to warm.

15. With the warm spoon scoop the mousse into a serving dish. Yum yum! Enjoy!

I'm 20!

Our birthday was last friday! :) Jessy(my twin) and I turned 20! And it was Harry Potter's Birthday too! :) Our last day in Rexburg, we had a little farewell/birthday celebration (Red Robin). Jack is going to be in Ohio until november and my birthday was coming up. It was really fun. Anna and Johan was there and our friends Jacob, Pierina, Rob, James and Carol. I love all of them. I got free Ice Cream, free Hamburger (I had a birthday coupon), balloons and they sang happy birthday! Ha ha. I wish Jessica were here, we haven't had a birthday together for a while. :(

When we got to Ohio I had another early birthday celebration with Jack's family, (before Sybil, Ned and Jeff left) They got me ice cream cake (I was talking about Ice cream cake and she didn't even know), pajamas, a Nintendo DS game (Mario Bros.- THE BEST!) and a cute shirt! :) I have the best in-laws. And we went out to eat with everyone.

On the 31st (friday), we went to Jared and Ashley's wedding and reception. It was beautiful. I love them so much. Jared used to room with Jack, that's how we met. And we were really happy to have Chad and Rebecca to hang out with. They were their photographers too! They are amazing!!!! Click here if you would like to see their AMAZING blog. I go there everyday.Between the wedding and the reception we got to walk around downtown Columbus. Which was fun. Jack was really tired so there wasn't much energy to go do stuff. Being in Rexburg for the summer is lovely, the best time of the year to be here, really. BUT academically not so much. Since I am on track from April until the end of July, I get to go to class and work (inside) from 8 am until 5 pm. It makes me really sad to know that I did not get to experience much of the summer here in Rexburg. I wish I would have gone to lakes, float trips, and all the outdoorsy stuff that there is available out there. And it makes me even more sad to know that when I am back for the Fall semester (September) I will be required to be wearing hoodies already.

But the reason I feel great is because I am done with school for 7

weeks!!!!! :D It feels so good to be free. I can focus on things that I actually enjoy doing which do not include writing research papers, taking tests, working at the best time of the day to go out and play and waking up early to go to classes. It was a stressful semester although it was probably the "easiest" one since I have been here. All in all, I learned A LOT and I am glad it's over! :)

Okay so finals week has not been fun. I have tons of things to tell, but I don't have time for blogging, as much as I would love to. I can't believe that next week I will be able to sleep in and not worry about school for almost 2 months! :) CRAZY! I have tons of projects in mind and even this week I spent some of my precious time working on some cute "wall art". I'll post a picture so you guys can tell me if you like it or not. Okay, so this whole time I thought no one commented on my blog because they just didn't really feel like it or because my blog is boring. This morning Anna texted me and told me that I had to enable comments on my blog so people could comment. Ha ha I am so silly, I bet that everyone loves my blog but they just couldn't comment on it. Juuuust Kidding! Well I messed with the comments settings so you should be able to comment now. :D Sorry if you have tried commenting before but you couldn't I am still learning how to use a Blog.

Well since I am already here... Today is our 3 month anniversary!!! Ha ha I don't think we are doing anything special. I have a 15 page paper to write due on tuesday. I have never written a paper that long. I don't even know where to start. Although I am super sick of school, we only have a week and a half left! :D

So I was wondering; "Should I be updating my blog in English or in Portuguese?" Well, I haven't really decided but I think I will write it in English and when I feel like it it will be in Portuguese. I need to improve my English writing skills.

So I never know what to post about and that's why I haven't been posting. And I probably had the craziest week of the semester.... so far.

But today I just needed to post about my first plant! Ha ha. My boss gave me pieces of the "creeping charlie" that he has in his office so I could start my own. He put the pieces in this cute little pot, and told me to keep watering it so it would grow roots. I followed the instructions and now it has been really fun watching it grow. Yesterday I was looking at some pictures from the beginning of this semester and I saw my plant in a picture that I took of my living room. And today it is a lot bigger! :D So here are the comparing pictures.

We named it today, Harry Pot. Ha ha Jack's idea! Because it is getting so big I am planning on buying a bigger pot for it. Probably when we go to Utah next weekend I can stop by Ikea and get something cute. :)

So I have this great passion for clouds. They are just nice looking (most of the time). I have this dream of hugging a cloud, I think it would be like hugging a GIANT super comfortable Pillow (I wish). How can they seem so tangible sometimes? It is so amazing. Okay this was enough to weird you all out. But here are some pictures that I took today with my cellphone. Rexburg has had crazy weather. Like my friend Brynne said, Idaho is having an Identity Crisis, they probably think they are Washington or something. Oh well. Let them decide, while we get drenched in rain and try not to step in a pond of muddy water! I hope summer comes soon. Ac

cording to my Tabby Cat calendar, June 21st is the first day of summer. Maybe it will come then. During fathers day! I also wanted to tell you all that have not seen "Up", the new Pixar movie, to go immediately! It is a great movie, and they have one of the short movies, called Partly Cloudy, at the beginning that involves clouds. I was really happy about it! And also for those of you that wait till the credits are over to see if there is some surprise at the end... this one doesn't so you can leave shortly after.

So I haven't had the chance to post on this blog. I mean I have, but I just decided that until I came up with something good to write about, I wouldn't post.

Well I think that I was a member of Blogger before any of you that are reading this right now. My address was www.j_e_n_n_y.blogger.com (at the time it ended with blogger.com) You won't be able to find it anymore but I remember. It was either 2001 or 2002..... yes I will do the math for you, I was 12 or 13. Weird hu??? I can't clearly remember what I "blogged" about, what could a 12 year old be possibly blogging about? From what I remember I treated it as a journal. Wish I still had it so I could read the dumb things I probably said and thought about. And compare my maturity level. Probably hasn't changed much. Ha ha. Sorry if the blog isn't very aesthetically pleasing. I am working on getting better at blogging. I am planning on having this blog as a way of escaping the busyness and the world. Maybe show you guys some things that I am interested in. And also keep my family updated on what is going on in the new Thomas' Family life.
